Surgical stents are useful when placing multiple implants.  This case probably did not require a stent to place dental implants in #28, 30 areas.  But the surgical stent was needed for the LL area.  With the surgical stent in position, a 3D CBCT was taken.  As you can see in the CT there was plenty of bone, width and height, in the LR area.

Here is the surgical stent.

The LR area.

Perio probe through the holes to mark the soft tissue

Soft tissue shows where the implants are planned to be placed.  Incision is then made keeping in mind whether the implant will be submerged under the soft tissue or healing abutments will be placed.

The initial drill through the surgical stent.

Direction indicators in place.

After sequential osteotomy and counter sinking, implants were placed.

After suturing.

Immediately Post Op. 5 x 11.5 and 4 x 11.5 fixtures were placed.  Cover screws can be seen.

Great case utilizing a surgical stent.
3D CT scans are indispensible in many cases.
